Private Therapy in Southampton | The Farley

In-person counselling & psychotherapy in Southampton. Person-centred, relational support for burnout, stress, anxiety and emotional disconnection.

Burnout, anxiety, and disconnection do not look the same for everyone. For some, it shows up in sleepless nights or scattered focus. For others, it is tension that never lifts, or emotions that feel flat and unreachable. It can also appear as constant pressure, irritability, or relationships and social situations that feel harder to settle into. Sometimes it is simply the sense of no longer feeling like yourself.

Counselling in Southampton at The Farley offers a steady, confidential space to explore these challenges and begin making sense of what feels overwhelming.

In-person counselling at The Farley

I work from a private, home-based practice in Shirley, Southampton. The space is calm, with its own entrance, WC, and a view onto a small garden. Many clients find the setting helps them feel more at ease, creating a sense of safety before the work begins.

Sessions are weekly, 50 minutes long, and can be short-term or open-ended depending on your needs.

This might be the right fit if you are:

  • Burning out but still trying to meet every demand

  • Living with anxiety that is difficult to switch off

  • Feeling emotionally flat or disconnected from your own life

  • Experiencing constant pressure without knowing how to slow down

  • Struggling with people-pleasing, perfectionism, or both

  • Presenting as fine to others, while feeling the opposite inside

  • Managing relationships that leave you emotionally drained

  • Finding yourself on the edge of certain groups or environments

  • Seeking greater clarity, balance, and emotional stability in daily life

I have experience working with a wide range of people, including deep thinkers, creatives, carers, parents, professionals and founders. Many of the people I work with are used to holding things together for others, while managing their own internal pressure, exhaustion, or sense of disconnection.

They often need a space where they do not have to adapt, perform, or work things out alone, and can begin to focus on themselves.

My approach

I offer person-centred counselling and psychotherapy, drawing on trauma-aware and relational perspectives.

At the core of this work is a space where you do not have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or get it right. You do not need to arrive with answers, or even with the right words. We can start with whatever feels most present, and take the time to stay with it together.

Sessions focus on looking closely at what is happening, rather than moving past it or trying to manage it. This means slowing things down, staying with something long enough to understand it properly, and noticing patterns in how you think, respond, or relate.

Over time, this can lead to greater clarity, a steadier sense of yourself, and relief from the pressure you have been carrying.
