Private Online Therapy Across the UK | The Farley
Person-centred, relational counselling and psychotherapy online across the UK for adults living with burnout, anxiety, and emotional disconnection
Burnout, anxiety, and disconnection do not look the same for everyone. For some, it shows up in sleepless nights or racing thoughts that will not settle. For others, it feels like constant pressure in the body, emotions that are difficult to access, or a flatness that lingers no matter what you do. It can also appear as irritability, difficulty concentrating, or relationships that feel harder to sustain. Sometimes it is simply the sense of no longer feeling like yourself.
Research highlights that online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions when the therapeutic relationship is strong (APA, 2024; Norwood et al., 2018). For adults experiencing burnout, anxiety, or longer-term emotional strain, accessible online support can reduce barriers to care and support meaningful improvement in wellbeing (Sucala et al., 2012).
Private therapy online at The Farley offers a steady, confidential space to explore these challenges and begin making sense of what feels overwhelming. There is no commute, no waiting rooms, and no added pressure.
Online therapy at The Farley
Sessions take place on Google Meet using a private, secure link. You can join from home, a private office, or wherever feels most comfortable. For many people, being able to settle into therapy without the stress of travel or entering a new space makes it easier to show up when life already feels heavy.
Online therapy follows the same structure as in-person work. We meet at the same time each week for 50 minutes in a space that is confidential and focused entirely on you. Over time, this consistency can help create a sense of stability and safety, even when everything else feels difficult to manage.
Sessions are weekly, 50 minutes long, and can be short-term or open-ended depending on your needs.
This might be the right fit if you are:
-
Burnt out but still keeping up appearances, unsure how much longer you can sustain it
-
Constantly anxious, with a mind that races even when nothing is urgent
-
Pushing through exhaustion, running on adrenaline while feeling emotionally flat inside
-
Struggling to slow down because stopping feels unsafe, yet continuing feels unbearable
-
Noticing how you find it harder to connect, communicate, or stay present in your relationships
-
Aware that no matter how capable you seem, you feel disconnected from who you are
-
Finding that coping strategies and self-help have not touched the deeper exhaustion or anxiety
I have extensive experience working with deep thinkers, creatives, carers, parents, professionals and founders. Many of the people I work with are used to holding things together for others and now need space to focus on themselves.
My approach
I offer person-centred counselling, drawing on trauma-aware and relational perspectives. At the core of this approach is the therapeutic relationship itself. Research indicates that when therapy is grounded in empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, many clients report meaningful improvement in their wellbeing (StatPearls, 2023; Baier et al., 2020).
Evidence suggests that online person-centred approaches can support reductions in distress linked to anxiety, depression, and longer-term emotional strain (Sucala et al., 2012; APA, 2024). For adults living with burnout, anxiety, or disconnection, this can be especially important. The pressure to keep coping often leaves little room for vulnerability. A steady therapeutic relationship provides the conditions where it may feel possible to be met without expectation.
Rather than pushing for quick solutions, sessions at The Farley focus on creating the conditions where clarity, balance, and relief are more likely to emerge at your pace.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does online therapy work at The Farley?
Sessions take place on Google Meet, using a private link sent directly to you. It is secure and simple to use, with no need to download anything. Most people join from a laptop, tablet, or phone. You just need a quiet, private space where you can speak freely.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person counselling?
Effectiveness comes less from the format and more from the quality of the therapeutic process itself. Online therapy offers the same space to be heard, understood, and supported, even if the setting looks different.
What if I do not know how to start?
That is completely okay. You do not need the right words, or even a clear sense of what is wrong. Many people begin therapy with just the feeling that something is no longer manageable. We can start there.
Do I need to live in a specific area to work with you?
No. I work with adults across the UK. As long as you have a stable internet connection and somewhere private to talk, we can work together.
